The Events & Community Group exist to coordinate events for the various TSL groups, and also to get the community involved as much as possible in
activities. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at Ye Olde Fleece Inn, Kendal, 7:30pm.
Last year we organised a highly successful series of talks, film showings and workshops over the winter, culminating in a talk by Ben Brangwyn from the Transition Network and a fantastic Eco-Fair at the Castle St Centre in Kendal.
This year our focus is very much on helping the other groups with their events and providing them with our experience, knowledge and contacts. We will also be running out Transition Training, a monthly workshop aimed at equipping the community with the skills needed to succesfully negotiate the Transition to an oil-free and low-carbon future. This will be trialled this winter and more details will be posted shortly.
We are also planning a big event in the spring, possibly to coincide with the Bike Festival the Transport Group are planning. Again, more details will be posted shortly.

venues and content. A planned monthly event. We will be running a trial project over winter before making a formal launch in the new year. The aim is to provide training to the community in key Transition Skills. This could involve anything from spoon carving, jam making, sewing, seasonal food, spinning etc. Do you have any skills you could offer? If so get in touch. |
